general rules *
1. This site is 100% anti-harassment. It is set up for all levels of role playing, meaning there will be people new to it who may not be the greatest in the world or the ones that completely understand how this whole thing works. If there is a problem, contact a staff member BEFORE you address the person. Any violation of this rule will result in a temporary suspension.
2. Respect the staff, please we are not here to be ignored and thought of as bad people, we really are nice people and we just want to have as fun of a time as all of you
3. Any image with a watermark or any other form of copyright is NOT to be used here unless you have proof of permission from the rights owner. (This includes reference images). This rule is not my own, it is a proboards rule. If someone uses a copyrighted image and we are reported for a Terms of Service violation, the entire site will be shut down.
4. Try to keep swearing to a minimum in OOC. It is acceptable (as long as it is not used in excess) when in character, but we don't really want to see it in OOC all that much. There may be people here who that would offend, and we would prefer that no one be offended by anything here.
5. No fighting. If I see anything that vaguely resembles a fight, all members involved will have their warning level raised. If someone is trying to pick a fight, please inform me, and until I take action, turn the other cheek. It will be dealt with appropriately by the staff.
6. Follow all appropriate forms when submitting a character (horse or human), otherwise your application will be denied. A name for the face claim is required (for humans).
7. The cbox is for chatting ONLY. Please do not advertise there (this includes putting the URL of another role play forum in the address box). I can and will ban problem people from the cbox, and if guests ever become a problem when I'm not around, please PM me and I will make it unavailable to guests.
roleplay rules *
1. Perfect characters. No. There is no such thing as perfect. Your character isn't going to be the most beautiful person alive. Your horse isn't going to be able to jump 7 feet and have never knocked a rail down in their life. It just doesn't happen. Everyone has flaws. Any character that looks like a "Mary-Sue" or or "Gary-Stues" they will not be accepted.
2. Please try to use correct spelling and grammar. I'm not asking for perfection, all I'm asking is that you try. If you know you're not very good at spelling or grammar, please make sure that you use spell check. I recommend writing your post on Microsoft Word and using the spelling and grammar check there before you post. It helps your literacy level greatly. Also, firefox and Google Chrome have automatic spell check. If you see the red squiggly lines, please check and make sure you haven't made a mistake there.
3. Power playing is not allowed on any level unless you have permission from the other person. For example, you cannot say "Aaron punched Jeremy in the face and broke his jaw." Instead you should say something along the lines of "Aaron swung at Jeremy's face with his fist hoping to inflict maximum damage." This goes for other character's horses as well. If it is not your horse, you cannot decide if the horse likes you or not, you cannot decide if the horse runs away or stays there. You cannot say anything about what another person's character does because you don't know if they would do that or not, the same way you can't decide what I do or what my horse does.
4. Keep in mind that proboards rules prohibit anything more mature than PG-13. Drugs and drinking are fine, but anything that gets more "steamy" than I deem appropriate will be deleted. "Glorifying" drugs is also not allowed, this includes describing how to get them or making them seem like a great thing. If your character uses drugs, make sure they have all the bad side effects of them too. If you absolutely must go through with anything over PG-13 take it to PM. Three violations of this rule will result in an increased warning level.
5. There is no word limit but we would like to see paragraphs not one liners please.
6. Your human MUST be accepted by a staff member before you can role play him/her. The same goes for horses.
character rules *
1. Please only make as many characters as you can keep active.
2. Check the face claim to make sure you face claim is open. You can go ahead and post so your claim can be resevered until you bio is finished.
3. Please remember this is a realistic RPG. Make sure your character eats, drinks, and etc. And goes to buy things they need like food and such.
horse/barn rules *
1. Stallions CANNOT be turned out with mares or other stallions. Stallions would fight, mares would be impregnated, neither of which we want. If your stallion tends to jump out of paddocks, then he must remain in his stall at all times except when being ridden or on a lead and under control. If you want your mare and stallion to be bred, there is a breeding barn for that purpose. We don't care if you own two stallions who have previously gotten along, or if you want to let your stallion out with your mares. It's against the rules, don't do it.
2. If you are jumping or riding on the track you MUST wear a helmet. This is for your own safety and is demanded by the insurance policy.
3. Keep all dogs under control. Not all horses are dog friendly and Flying High is not held responsible for any injury your dog might sustain.
4. All riders must wear a helmet!
5. If any of the trainers and staff are under the impression that you are not riding safely they may ask you to dismount and put your horse away. If this happens you MUST do as asked.
6. If someone is doing a course in any arena, please wait until they are done to enter so as to avoid getting in their way.
7. For safety reasons, do not leave your horse in the cross-ties unattended.
8. The barn closes at 11 p.m. If you need to be here later than that, please talk to a trainer or manager beforehand so that they know it's just you and not someone with bad intentions when they see the lights on.
9. NO SMOKING in the barns. If you must smoke while on the premises, please stand at least 10 feet from any of the structures, and use common sense and put it out completely away from any hay or shavings.
10. No alcohol is allowed on Flying High property, and if you come to the barn under the influence, rest assured you will be asked to leave.
11 .You have to be able to afford them! You have to deal with vets, and farriers!
12. Created horses start out with 350 points. Bought horses will say how many points they have. You need to keep up with these points!
13. When creating a horse, keep the disciplines realistic to the breed. Same go when buying a new horse!
14, Auctions and sales will be ongoing, check in frequently to see what's been added. Auction/sale horses have names but are not registered, you can change their name or keep it what it is.
15. You must keep track of feed, tack, vet, and farrier for all your horses.
16. You can breed your horses once they have hit a certain age snd it's best to wait until they have a good number points. Mares must be 5, and stallions must be 4.
17. To breed, post your mare/stallion stats in the foaling barn and one of the Staff will get to them.
